TMTP – Day 18

Posted on 01.18.2013

The following post is Day 18 of 18, in the series Take Me To A Place – in 18 Days:

When I wrote the song “Take Me To A Place” it came out of the fact that I had found my peace in the midst of a dying and harsh world. I wanted to be in a place where I would be accepted and loved for real. I wanted to know that there were no pretenses. Jesus came to give us life abundantly.  However, I have found that I have to make the choice to enter into His Presence or abide in Him—His love—moment-by-moment. For, as we enter in that place, though we are physically still earth-bound, we will certainly find all that we need in Him. What we need we cannot get from the “world.”

You see, for me, it doesn’t matter how I feel or who may not approve of me or how bad of a day I may actually be having. I just choose to remember that Jesus “has my back.” I know that whatever I face, He is literally going to give me strength to deal with it or remove it. I just have to enter into that place with him where I am reassured that I am serving a God who dwells within me and is committed to my good.

We enter into the rest, the blessing, the truth, the wisdom, the reality, the emotions, the peace, the transformation, the security, the privacy and the joy that comes with the fellowship of Christ.

We can enter in right now and decide to live in the daily presence of Jesus. The best part of this is that when Jesus comes for us, physically, we will remain in that place forever, where everything’s all right.

I strive each day to have that all-encompassing peace and assurance that God offers us. I want it each day. I pray you and I are taken to that place in Him as we walk out our lives in Christ. Let’s go there! I hope this 18-day series leading up to our concert tonight have been as meaningful to you as they have been to me! Let us celebrate the fact that we even have “a place in Christ.” As we worship tonight, I pray we will all go to that place together!

Meanwhile, “May the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face upon you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26).
