TMTP – Day 17

Posted on 01.17.2013

One thing that I am convinced of is that God is Love and that His Love will never leave me. In our earlier writings in this series, we have talked about God’s love—that it is secure.  Security means stable and unchanging. The great thing about having a relationship with Christ now, or in our temporal existence is that this relationship carries over into the next realm of our existence—into eternity! Hence, we will continue to be wrapped in the security of His love eternally!

John 3:16 reminds us: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Our life with Christ for eternity just means that this place we strive to be in will always exist and never go away. We will not only live in the presence of Christ, but also reign with Him forever.

In Hebrews 13:5, He promised that He would never leave us or forsake us—not now and not ever. The promise of being able to stay with God is ours for keeps. This, in particular, reminds me of when I was courting my husband. I remember that the night before our wedding day, I thought, “after tomorrow, Michael will never have to go home again” because we would live together as man and wife after we were married!

We who claim Christ will live and dwell with Christ forever and everything that He is will define our experience for eternity. We will finally be home with Christ for good. That is why I know that His love will never leave me.
