TMTP – Day 8
Posted on 01.08.2013
One thing that we learn after becoming a Christian is how challenging it is to stay focused on Christ in a world that seems to attempt to take one’s focus off of Christ! We are constantly inundated with the world, the flesh and the devil. Hence, we are in a constant battle against those things that take our focus off of God.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” In other words, do not let the world mold you. Instead, let yourself experience positive change by changing how your mind thinks. For, we will surely become the way that we think! This is extremely important to us as we walk out our relationship with Christ Jesus.
We must choose daily to pursue Him and please Him. Making conscious choices regarding our daily living is important. Romans 8:5-6 states, “Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please God. If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.”
When we go to that place in the Savior, to sit at His feet and gaze into His face, we are reminded that we belong to Him and that our sinful nature no longer has power to control us or the way we think! Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can turn away from the world’s influences and choose to have our minds renewed in Christ.
