TMTP – Day 11
Posted on 01.11.2013
The following post is Day 11 of 18, in the series Take Me To A Place – in 18 Days:
Most of you will agree that everyone wants to be loved and wants to be regularly reassured of that love. We want the love to last and never leave. When a man and a woman “fall in love” they want it to be “true and lasting love” and are challenged at times by a fear and insecurity that their love will be lost.
To be secure in love is a very good thing. Being secure means being free from anxiety or doubt or the risk of loss, as defined in the dictionary. Being secure means being stable, firm and safe. Who doesn’t want that kind of security, especially when it comes to love?
I have found my True Love in Jesus.
Psalm 136 is a passage that talks about all of the great things God has done throughout history like setting the moon in the sky and dividing the Red Sea for the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. After every line espousing each of God’s glorious feats is the phrase, “His love endures forever.” Out of 26 verses, it is stated 26 times! The reason for this was for emphasis—to get the point across that His love really does endure forever. Case closed.
The love of Jesus is unfailing and it quiets me when I get all upset about stuff (Zephaniah 3:17). One of my favorite expositions about the love of God is this: ”For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
