TMTP – Day 2
Posted on 01.02.2013
The following post is Day 2 of 18, in the series Take Me To A Place – in 18 Days:
I don’t know how many times each day I hear the phrase “God bless you,” and I cannot recall the number of times I have used the phrase in the past week. However, as children of God, we always want to bless others and we also want to be blessed. But there is no more absolute blessing than to be blessed by God!
What does it mean to be blessed?
Simply, being blessed is defined as having divine favor; possessing heavenly reward, approval or encouragement; or being happy or joyful. The Bible is full of examples of or prerequisites for being blessed. All of them include Christ, the Way, as the source.
This is great news for us as abiders in Christ! Ephesians 1:3 reads: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.”
This means that we are blessed because we belong to Christ Jesus not just for the present, but for eternity! Therefore, this means that we are blessed to have salvation and the power thereof to live for Him. We are blessed in Christ with gifts to be used by and for Him. We are blessed to have insight and wisdom to walk in this world intimately with Christ, never alone, surrounded in His Love.
This day, receive what is: You are blessed!
