TMTP – Day 9

Posted on 01.09.2013

The following post is Day 9 of 18, in the series Take Me To A Place – in 18 Days:

Today, I experienced a little emotional pain. Quickly prompted by the Holy Spirit, I remembered that I had to place this pain at the cross of Christ. It was at the cross where our pain was dealt with. If you are a Christian, you may understand the significance of the cross.

The pain and decay that we see and experience in life is a result of sin and sin’s profound and devastating effect on the world as we know it. Sin leads to death and decay. Hence, the disease and pain that we experience in our minds, bodies, souls and spirits is also the result of sin.

The good news, however, is that Jesus’ death on the cross defeated sin and its effects. He suffered pain on our behalf, and Isaiah aptly tells us, ”by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). When we “just touch the edge of his cloak” our pain and suffering is eased now just as it was when “People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed” (Matthew 14:36).

I am thankful that just that easily and quickly I have access to the Healer. I do not have to wait in line, or take a number or make an appointment to get my healing and the remedy for my pain. He is my remedy—just being in His Presence! Today, all I did was ask Him. All I did was simply “go to that place in Him” and I was fine.

Many of us have a past and a present filled with the pains of life: physical and mental abuse, betrayal, disappointment, hurts, offenses, and disease. We need to remember to grab on to the edge of his garment and hold on for life. He can truly ease your pain.
