TMTP – Day 3

Posted on 01.03.2013

One thing I have been guilty of is touting that I like the truth, that I like to tell the truth and that I can face the truth. But, truthfully, that is a lie! I don’t always like the truth! Especially when it comes to facing the truth about me: I am a saved sinner person who no one really knows except the Creator. I am quite far from perfect and I am dead wrong at times! Ugh!

The truth can hurt; not knowing the truth can be even worse. The truth exposes lies and lies are slick deceptions that can keep us trapped in sin and imprisoned for life. Not knowing what is right and true can keep one locked out of God’s full blessing.

However, John 8:32 brings beautiful words of hope, salvation and grace to us. This is where Jesus says, “Then you will know the Truth and the truth will set you free.” Jesus also said “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

In our desire to live in freedom from sin, and to be free to be all that God wants us to be, we must intimately know Truth. Truth does not deceive with the facts. Truth brings revelation along with a backdrop of unconditional love that is comforting and reassuring without fear even when the unpleasant facts about us are unveiled. That kind of real Truth is in Christ Jesus. And I would rather confront  reality in and with Him.
